Invent Analytics Named a 2024 Top Supply Chain Projects Award Winner

PHILADELPHIA—June 17, 2024—Invent Analytics, an award-winning global retail planning solutions provider, proudly announces it has been named to the 2024 Top Supply Chain Projects Award list, presented annually by Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics magazines. The award program profiles innovative case study-type projects designed to automate, optimize, streamline and improve the supply chain. Invent Analytics was honored for helping a multibillion-dollar discount retailer leverage AI to optimize inventory and store replenishment, resulting in higher sales, better inventory turns, reduced inventory levels, and maximized profitability.

Operating more than 1,000 stores in the United States, the discount retailer is focused on continued expansion. To support its growth goals, the retailer searched for an inventory optimization solution that could handle complex planning needs, including product varieties, turning inventory, and available units. The retailer selected Invent Analytics’ AI-driven platform to automate and optimize forecasting and inventory decision-making processes.

In just three months, Invent Analytics implemented its Replenishment Optimization and Profit Optimization solutions for the discount retailer. Key benefits include:

    • Dynamic demand forecasting: The platform generates highly accurate forecasts for each store and product combination, accounting for hundreds of variables, including seasonal event data and store, location, and product characteristics.
    • Profit-optimized inventory decision-making: AI decisioning automatically positions each piece of inventory to generate the highest incremental profit.
    • Optimized replenishment: The platform determines optimal reorder points and order quantities, replenishing the right amount of inventory at the right time to maximize inventory turns and availability.
    • Phantom inventory detection: The platform identifies and reacts to cases of phantom inventory, positioning more inventory without the need for human intervention.

Leveraging Invent Analytics’ platform, the discount retailer now positions the right inventory at the right locations, in the right quantities, on a daily basis. As a result, the retailer has seen significant financial improvements, including a 2-4% increase in topline sales, a decrease in inventory levels, and a boost to its bottom line.

“The past 12 months has seen companies within the supply chain and logistics space upgrade, enhance, adopt and adapt in order to achieve greater efficiency along the chain. Companies implemented others' software and technology to work smarter, together. Their partnerships cultivated resilience and placed a spotlight on projects designed to make the supply chain space safer and more efficient,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of  Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “And, now it's time to celebrate those projects!”
