Gürhan Kök has founded Invent Analytics in 2013 to build advanced-analytics products for the retail industry. One of the leading researchers of his generation working in retail operations, Gürhan’s academic work has pioneered research in the fields of assortment planning and supply chain management. Gürhan has been collaborating with global retailers for development of new technologies for over fifteen years.
Gürhan currently serves as a Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at Koç University and the Academic Director of Koç University-Migros Retail Research Center in Istanbul. Prior to joining Koç in 2014, Gürhan was a tenured faculty member at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He received his Ph.D. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 2003.
Can Mustafa Köne
Head of Software Development
Can Köne leads the Software and Product Development Team at Invent Analytics. Can has been building software products for e-commerce, gaming and CRM sectors for over 15 years. Can has co-founded Turkey’s leading daily deals website Grupanya, which raised series A round in 2011 at $40 million valuation. He also founded Turkey’s first online printing site Basrika while still in graduate school. Prior to joining Invent, Can was leading the Software Development Team at Istanbul-based security services company Pronet. At Invent, Can’s responsibilities include overseeing the infrastructure design, analytics platforms and the customer service teams.
As the leader of Algorithm Development Team at Invent Analytics, Mustafa oversees Client Services, Algorithm Design and Development. His expertise is on complex mathematical algorithms and econometric models. He has extensive algorithm development and consulting experience in leading financial services, retail, research and consulting companies, both in the U.S. and in Turkey. Mustafa has an M.S. in Financial Engineering from Stevens Inst. of Technology, M.S. degree in Mathematics from Ohio State University and B.S. in Mathematics from Bilkent University.
Aret brings to Invent 15 years of working experience in retail, including six years in management consulting. Before joining Invent Analytics, Aret was working as an independent consultant to retail companies and private equity firms, and was a local expert for Kurt Salmon Germany. Aret’s field of expertise are strategy development, process review and optimal operating model design for retail store operations, product management and pricing.
Dr. Mustafa Gökçe Baydoğan
Mustafa is an assistant professor of Industrial Engineering at Boğaziçi University and Scientific Advisor at Invent Analytics. Mustafa received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University in 2012. He later joined Security and Defense Systems Initiative at Arizona State as a postdoctoral fellow. Mustafa’s research mainly focuses on large-scale data mining, time series analysis and pattern discovery. Mustafa provides scientific guidance for demand forecasting and data mining projects at Invent Analytics.
Felipe Caro, Phd
Felipe Caro is Associate Professor of Decision, Operations, and Technology Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. In his PhD dissertation at MIT, he developed analytical models with demand learning for the dynamic assortment problem faced by fast-fashion retailers. This led to an ongoing collaboration with the Spanish apparel retailer Zara that made him a Franz Edelman Laureate in 2009. Some of his current research projects include carbon allocation in supply chains, coordination of pricing and inventory decisions, forecasting, and exploration versus exploitation problems.
